Customs Statistics: French Trade Information, November 2018
According to statistics from the European Statistical Office, from January to November 2018, the import and export volume of French goods was US$1,158.60 billion, an increase of 9.2% over the same period of the previous year. Among them, exports were 535.48 billion US dollars, up 9.9%; imports were 623.11 billion US dollars, up 8.5%. The trade deficit was US$87.63 billion, an increase of 1.0%.
In November, the import and export of French goods was US$106.58 billion, down 2.3%. Among them, exports were US$49.54 billion, down 0.7%; imports were US$57.04 billion, down 3.7%. The trade deficit was $7.5 billion, down 19.9%.
From January to November, the import and export volume of bilateral goods between China and France was US$53.95 billion, an increase of 12.1%. Among them, France’s exports to China reached US$21.93 billion, up 15.5%, accounting for 4.1% of France’s total exports, up 0.2 percentage points; France’s imports from China were US$32.03 billion, up 9.8%, accounting for 5.1% of total French imports, compared with the previous year. The same period was flat.
From January to November, the trade deficit between France and China was 10.1 billion US dollars, down 0.8%.
As of November, China is the seventh largest export market and the sixth largest source of imports for France.
